2. Principle
This website is a purely static site. We do not use cookies, we do not embed fonts, scripts or other resources from third-party providers, and we do not create profiles that follow you across websites. For usage statistics we use cookieless analytics software that we host ourselves — see section 4.
3. Hosting and server log files
The website is operated on our own server at Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 Munich, Germany. When you access the website, the web server processes technically necessary data (in particular IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system). This processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and stable operation of the website. Log data is deleted after a short period.
4. Web analytics (Rybbit, self-hosted)
To understand how this website is used, we use Rybbit, an open-source analytics tool that we operate ourselves on our own server (see section 3). No data is passed on to external analytics providers such as Google.
Rybbit works without cookies and does not store any information on your device. Your IP address is not stored: it is processed only transiently in order to determine an approximate location (country/region) and to derive a temporary identifier using a value that changes daily. Visitors therefore cannot be recognised across several days or across different websites.
The following is recorded: the pages visited, the time of access, the referring website, the approximate location, technical information such as browser, operating system, device type and screen size, and anonymous interaction events — for example that a download or purchase button was clicked, or that the interactive demo on the start page was used. Only the action itself is recorded, never any content you enter, copy or paste.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis of website usage in order to improve our website. You may object to this processing at any time under Art. 21 GDPR — an informal message to the email address in section 1 is sufficient. You can also prevent the collection yourself by using a content blocker in your browser.
5. Purchase and license key
Purchases of Duplia are processed through an external payment provider. That provider processes the data required to conclude the contract (e.g. name, email address, payment and billing details) under its own responsibility; we never receive complete payment data such as credit card numbers. The license key is sent to the email address provided at purchase. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
6. The Duplia app
Duplia processes all content — your clipboard history and any files you park in the shelf — exclusively on your Mac. This content is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Network access occurs solely to validate your license key and to retrieve software updates; no clipboard content is transmitted in the process. Content that password managers mark as confidential is never stored. In addition, individual apps can be excluded from the history entirely.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, in particular, the following rights:
- Access to the personal data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodging a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
An informal message to the email address above is sufficient to exercise your rights.
8. Data security
The website is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Beyond that, we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access.
9. Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy whenever features of the website change or new services are introduced. The version published here applies.
